Knowing that a high-profile ring would only incur repeated damage as I work with my hands, I chose an anniversary ring as my "daily driver" ring, only to have 1 of the open channel set siamonds com loose within 60 days of purchase. I had purchased the warranty so there were no issues getting it in and fixed, but this ended up happening 3 times total, and when I expressed my concerns to a sales associate I was told that as an anniversary band, "it's not meant to be worn every day".

This was upsetting on the obvious level: When I was making my purchase, why wasn't the sales rep aware of this? I was completely specific about my line of work, and how I needed a durable and quality ring. I have literally left my wedding ring in a jewelry box for 4 years.

They do, however, offer an "upgrade" when you purchase, but there's a catch(!). You have to double your purchase. So if you spend $1000 on a ring, you'll have to upgrade at a minimum of $2000 for the next item. While it could be viewed as my fault for not reviewing the offering more carefully when it was presented, I was very foolish to trust the rederick of the sales associate to believe that I could upgrade just slightly. Especially in light of the fact that my ring is essentially a piece of garbage.

Since this is a retail jewelry store, I cannot even approach any semblance of comparable value on this ring second hand as it was priced so high (private sale or pawn shop). So, even though the retail value of my ring went from $1099 originally to $1299 now, if I were to try to sell it, I'd estimate that I'd MAYBE get $500 for it. I would have gotten more satisfaction if I'd taken 13 $100 bills and lit them on fire. At least in that case I would have SEEN my money destroyed, rather than have an unwearable trinket that I cannot use.

The word "dissapointment" cannot even remotely measure what has happened through this experience. I have learned that retail jewelery shops are not to be trusted as they are shifty and two-faced. What a pity that a huge name like Jared has had to join that bandwagon, because at this point, I would honestly rather give my business to a pawn shop than to step a single foot in their door.
